Murray "you be the judge" McEwen

I have been following Blues music since I was 13 years old, and that was in 1966! I feel privileged to have grown up in the 60s and 70s and to have been able to appreciate so much of the good music that was released over those two decades.

My first introduction to the Blues came one Sunday afternoon here in New Plymouth as a 13 year old when a friend (who has since become a very close friend) played me some tracks by Son House, Blind Lemon Jefferson, BB King and Muddy Waters. There was no turning back.

Seeing Muddy Waters in concert in New Zealand in the early seventies was also a highlight.

I subscribe to "Living Blues" and "Juke Blues" magazines and also follow "Blues Revue".

My first "solo" show on The Most was broadcast on Sunday 1 March, 2009.  I try to feature some of the pioneers of the blues each time on my show - music from the 20s and 30s, but am also keen to try anything modern from L A to Texas, New Orleans to Kansas City, Memphis to Chicago and all places in between.

My host nick name is "You be the Judge" - the blues covers a wide spectrum, so each listener can decide what appeals to them the most.
